It’s funny how quickly a month can disappear.
One minute you’re making plans. The next you’re looking back, wondering how you fitted everything in.
That’s exactly how June has felt.
It has been one of those months filled with family, laughter, exciting projects and plenty of adventures. The kind of month that leaves you feeling wonderfully tired.
And when I stopped to think about it, I realised there was one thing connecting everything we’ve been doing.
Making memories.
Time Together Matters
This month we spent our last few weeks with my sister Sophie before she headed back to Australia.
Whenever she visits, we try to squeeze as much as possible into every day. Beach trips. Days out. Long chats. Family meals. The ordinary things suddenly become rather extraordinary because you know they won’t last forever.
It’s reminded me how precious time really is.
Life is busy.
Children grow.
Families spread out across the world.
Sometimes we put off making plans because we’re waiting for the perfect moment.
But the perfect moment rarely arrives.
The memories come from deciding that today is good enough.
Bringing BabyFest Back
June also brought another exciting decision.
We’re bringing BabyFest back.
Many years ago, before social media took over our lives, networking looked very different. Businesses met face to face. Families discovered local companies by chatting to real people rather than scrolling through endless posts.
There was something special about that.
So we’re bringing it back.
This September we’ll be welcoming some wonderful local baby and toddler businesses into our studio.
The aim isn’t simply to hold another event.
It’s about building a community.
New parents often tell us how overwhelming those early months can feel. Everyone has advice. Everyone has a different opinion.
BabyFest gives families the chance to meet local experts, ask questions and discover businesses they might never have found online.
Because when local businesses support one another, everyone benefits.
Especially the families we all work so hard to help.
Sunshine Means Adventure
Of course, the weather has certainly helped this month too.
We’ve enjoyed some glorious sunshine.
That has meant plenty of beach visits, outdoor filming for new content and some truly spectacular family photo shoots.
There’s something magical about photographing families outside.
Children don’t worry about posing.
They explore.
They run.
They laugh.
Parents relax.
The photographs become full of genuine moments rather than forced smiles.
Those are often the images that become family favourites.
Watching Our Babies Grow Up
One of my favourite moments this month has been welcoming so many familiar faces back through our doors.
Prom & Play has officially begun.
Many of the children visiting were once wrapped up in blankets on our newborn posing table.
Now they’re chatting, laughing, dressing up and getting ready for school.
It’s impossible not to smile.
Watching children grow has always been one of the greatest privileges of this job.
We don’t just photograph one chapter.
For many families, we’re lucky enough to capture the whole story.
That’s What It’s All About
When people ask what we do, photography is only part of the answer.
Yes, we create beautiful portraits.
Yes, we print artwork that will last for generations.
But really, we’re preserving something much bigger.
We’re protecting the moments that disappear all too quickly.
The tiny fingers.
The gap-toothed smiles.
The cuddles.
The laughter.
The relationships.
Because years from now, those photographs won’t simply remind you what everyone looked like.
They’ll remind you how life felt.
Here’s to July
June has been wonderfully full.
Family.
Friends.
Community.
Sunshine.
Returning clients.
New adventures.
And so many memories.
