As weeks go at the PhotoBaby studio, last week could not have been much busier!
There were all our usual shoots happening. Beautiful bumps, tiny babies and growing families coming through the doors.
Then on Tuesday we had our Bump to Baby Live Giveaway, which I think might have been our busiest Live yet!
Poor Freya had more than 300 comments to keep up with during the hour we were live. It was absolutely bonkers, but so much fun. Thank you to everyone who joined us, commented, played along and entered.
And that was only Tuesday!
Wednesday was Hannah’s birthday, so obviously that meant one very important addition to the week…
Cake. Lots of cake.
There might have been a mountain of BabyFest jobs still to do, but birthdays at PhotoBaby need celebrating! So amongst the shoots, decorating, organising and general chaos, we made sure there was time for cake too.
Hannah brings out the cake!
Oh, and did I mention the tax man and lady came to audit us on Wednesday too?
Because apparently we didn’t have quite enough going on!
I’m very happy to report that went swimmingly too. So between the birthday celebrations, cake, shoots, BabyFest preparation and a tax audit, Wednesday was quite the day!
BabyFest was coming!
Alongside everything else, we were getting ready for BabyFest.
There were exhibitors to organise, our Baby Fashion Show with Viva Interiors to prepare, Harry Potter mini sessions to set up and approximately 4,792 last-minute jobs to finish.
We were also featured on Beyond Radio and in the Lancaster Guardian, which was brilliant.
So, naturally, in the middle of all this chaos, we decided it would also be an excellent time to…
Decorate the toilets.
Because why wouldn’t we?
Somehow, absolutely by the skin of our teeth, everything got finished in time.
And I have to say, our new jungle toilets got A LOT of attention on Saturday!
Adding last minute touches to our revamped loos!
A little bit of Harry Potter magic
Then, the day before BabyFest, we had a lovely surprise.
Blade & Rose called us and sent over some utterly gorgeous Hedwig-inspired outfits for our Harry Potter mini shoots, along with goodies for our raffle in aid of Tigerlily Trust.
They were absolutely perfect.
A huge thank you to Blade & Rose for getting involved at such short notice and helping us add even more magic to the day.
Our tiniest catwalk models
BabyFest itself had such a lovely vibe.
The exhibitors had made their stalls look beautiful, there was so much to see and do, and it was wonderful watching everyone chatting, discovering local businesses and enjoying the studio.

Then came the Baby Fashion Show with Viva Interiors.
Now, this had the potential to be a total disaster.
Most of our supermodels were only two or three years old.
You can organise adults. You can rehearse with adults.
Toddlers, however, have their own ideas.
But somehow, it went swimmingly!
It was ridiculously cute, wonderfully unpredictable and probably one of my favourite parts of the whole day.

So… will there be another BabyFest?
This was our first BabyFest in more than ten years, and we definitely learnt a few lessons.
The biggest one?
Trying to organise BabyFest while heading into our busiest Christmas period might actually break us!
So yes, we would LOVE to do another one.
But we’re going to give ourselves a little breathing space and look towards springtime for the next BabyFest.
Which brings me rather neatly to…
Christmas is coming!
I know. It feels early.
But in photography-studio land, Christmas is already knocking on the door!
If you’d love to come to PhotoBaby for Christmas portraits this year,
it’s time to enter our draw for the chance to win one of our Early Bird sessions.
This year’s Christmas styling is going to be absolutely beautiful.
Think greens, golds and gorgeous neutrals.

That means the sets will work perfectly with soft creams, beiges and neutral outfits, but they’ll also look fabulous with those classic Christmas reds.
Our Early Bird sessions begin from 16th October, and there’s an extra treat.
You’ll get an Autumn and Christmas combo shoot, giving you two gorgeous looks from one visit.
After the madness of last week, you’d think we’d be putting our feet up.
No chance.
Christmas is coming to PhotoBaby… here’s a little peak at our mood boards and I can’t wait to show you the real thing once we start building!
