Our Road to Inspiration

Right now, I’m on the M6.
Not sure if I’m sat in a jam or if I’m happily cruising home.
Truth is, I wrote this a few days ago, knowing I’d be driving back from Birmingham by now.

The last two days have been my annual business pilgrimage.
Two days of listening to speakers from all walks of business.
They share their highs, their lows, their tips, and their advice.
It’s like an injection of inspiration.
One that always gives PhotoBaby a huge boost.

Because the truth is – you don’t know what you don’t know.
Whatever path you’re on, there’s always more to learn.
Always ways to grow.
Always things you can tweak and improve.

Big steps for PhotoBaby

Our latest leap forward is something I’m really chuffed about.
We’ve been accepted to take part in the national Baby of the Month contest.
It’s in partnership with Emma’s Diary.

We had our very first shoots for the contest last week.
I can’t wait to see our work showcased in the competition.
It feels like such a lovely recognition of what we do here in Lancashire.

But that’s not all.
We’ve also been accepted by Virgin Experience Days.
They’ll be representing us very soon.
Imagine families all over the country finding us through their gift experiences – super exciting!

The studio build – and a few hiccups

Now onto the slightly more chaotic side of things.
Last week, when I wrote to you, the hole in the wall was about to happen.
Well, the hole is there now.
But… we also found next door has a leak.

So, everything has slowed down.
Nothing is ever straight forward, is it?
If we were on schedule, the new studio should have been almost finished by now.
Instead, I’m in a bit of a panic.

Why?
Because we’re supposed to be showing off the brand new maternity space on Facebook Live in just a couple of weeks.
And then starting our early bird Christmas shoots!

At this rate, we’ll be doing demolition shoots instead.
And swapping Santa hats for hard hats.

(Not really, I promise!)

I’ve tweaked the diary, crossed my fingers, and sent up a little prayer to the universe that everything else with the build runs smoothly.

 

What’s Next?

So, that’s where we are.
Full of inspiration from Birmingham.
Excited about Baby of the Month and Virgin Experience Days.
And quietly panicking about the building work.

But hey – it wouldn’t be PhotoBaby without a bit of chaos mixed in with the joy.
