Being pregnant is such a special time, and having a collection of maternity pictures taken is a wonderful memento of this. My own bump portrait has pride of place in my bedroom, and makes me smile every time I look at it.
Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, creating a collection of maternity pictures is a wonderful bit of ‘you time and a celebration to mark this magical moment in your life.
When you should come in for your maternity pictures really is up to you, every bump is different after all! I recommend that you get in touch at around three month mark and let me know that you are wanting to make maternity pictures. This give us time to talk about the kind of images you would like to create and arrange a provisional date in the diary.
To make your maternity pictures completely unique to you, we recommend you bring along a few of your own props. This could be anything from fabric to feathers, to an old shawl that has a sentimental story behind it. However don’t worry if you are stuck for ideas as we can talk this over and come up with a plan that will be personal to you.
If your baby bump has siblings a portrait with your little ones and your bump is extra special! It would be wonderful if you could bring them along too, but do remember this session really is about you so bring help as well if you can.
