Jack Knight in the Hot Seat

This month’s Hot Seat goes to Jack Knight, creative illustrator and founder of Independent Lancaster, a loyalty scheme which he has set up to encourage us all to shop locally at independent businesses and help grow the Lancaster economy.

What are you passionate about?

I’ve adopted Lancaster, I’ve been here for 10 years now and I want it to do well. I think some people need to step up and do something and take action to make it happen.

Do you have a dream?

That independent businesses in Lancaster will flourish and people will choose them over the chain stores.

Where do you find inspiration?

Liverpool where I’m from – they have a similar card scheme for their businesses, I contacted them to find out more and they have been really helpful and supportive.

If you could change places with someone for a day, who would it be?

I’d like to change places with the leader of the council and tear up the red tape and get more things in motion that would benefit Lancaster.

If you would like to join the scheme or find out more email hello@independent-lancaster.co.uk, and if you would like to be in a future edition of the Hot Seat email eleanor@photobaby.co.uk.
