We realise everyone has their own style and taste, and what you will wear for your photo shoot will be quite personal to you. That being said, we have a few tips that should help you choose the perfect outfit combos for you and your family.

Pick a Colour

After looking through our site and chatting with us, you will have gathered that we are huge fans of neutral colour combos! They are very soft and timeless. But this isn’t a hard and fast rule, so if you have other ideas go for it! To start off working out what you are going to wear, you need to pick a key colour. A deep or mid tone can be good as this will bring depth to your portraits. If you are not sure what colour to pick, think about where these portraits will be going in your home. What is the colour of the decor? Dress to match or complement.

Now Pick Some Complementary Colours

These will be lighter tones that work well with your initial colour choice. To avoid your pallet getting too busy, choose complementary colours that are similar to each other.

Remember the Shoot is about Your Family

This session is about you, your love and your bond. It isn’t a fashion shoot. You don’t need to bring loads of outfit changes, just bring a couple. It is also a really good idea to coordinate the outfit changes so that all of your portraits will complement each other in your final collection.

Avoid Combining Lots of Colours and Patterns

If your outfits are really busy, this can be a distraction in your portraits. Again, remember, your session is about you, not your clothes!

Not Sure What to Choose!

If you are stuck, feel free to send us some snaps of the outfit combos you have in mind and we’ll let you know what we think will work best. See you soon! x
