Some babies dive straight in.
Some take a little while to warm up.
Some prefer to poke, squash, or taste very cautiously.

There’s no rush and no pressure. If they need a cuddle, a reset, or a break, we simply go with the flow. The best moments usually happen when your baby is just being themselves.
“What if I don’t feel camera-ready?”

First birthdays can come at the end of a big year. You might not feel your best – and that’s okay. But please trust us when we say this: you don’t need to be “camera-ready” to belong in your baby’s story.
If you’d love to be included, we’ll guide you gently, keep everything natural, and focus on connection rather than posing.
And if being in front of the camera feels like too much? That’s absolutely fine too.
You don’t have to be in the portraits at all.
Or we can find a lovely middle ground – a hand helping, a cuddle, a little moment of reassurance.
There’s no right or wrong way to do this.

“What if it’s too expensive?”
This is something many parents worry about, we understand that you are on maternity leave!
We’ve structured this offer so that the session itself is completely free, and you only buy the images you truly love.
We have a range of options to suit most budgets, and we’ll talk you through everything during your warm up call. We promise there will be no hidden costs, and no surprises.

“What if I’ve left it too late?”
The ideal time for your first birthday portraits is about 6 weeks before baby’s birthday so that we have time to prep them and get them back to you, but this is not a hard and fast rule!

“I brought my daughter to the studio for her cake smash and I’ll be honest – I was a bit nervous. I had no idea how she’d react to the cake and was convinced she’d either cry, cling to me, or refuse to touch it at all!
