We Have a Bath! And a Dream Come True

We have a bath!
And honestly, you cannot imagine how excited I am about this!

Just twelve months ago, I sat down with a coffee and a pile of magazines and made a vision board. I filled it with everything I wanted to happen over the next ten years — both big dreams and tiny details.

Right in the middle of it was my dream studio.
I imagined moveable walls.
Multiple creative spaces.
A swing.
And yes… a bath!

A space where we could get really creative and make every experience feel utterly unique for the families who visit us.

I pinned all of this on my board with a little label: “Two years’ time.”
Which, technically, would be next year.

And if I’m being totally honest, it felt like a pipe dream. Something for “one day.”
Definitely not something that would happen any time soon.

But here we are — twelve months later — making it happen!
And we’re a whole year ahead of schedule.

Why a Bath, You Ask?

Good question. And it’s one that makes me smile every time.

When I first started this crazy, beautiful photography journey — seventeen years ago! — I was pregnant. So were my best friends. Naturally, I began by photographing us. My first maternity shoots were just me and my buddies, trying to capture that magic in our own little way.

One of my earliest portraits was of my lovely friend Hannah.
And where did we take the photo?
In my mum and dad’s bath!

Now, I’ll let you in on a little secret.
Health and safety weren’t exactly top of the list that day.

Picture this: two very pregnant women, one in the bath, one balanced rather precariously above it, camera in hand, trying not to topple in. My mum was there, of course, “spotting” me while helping style Hannah — and the three of us could hardly stop laughing long enough to get the shot.

It was chaotic.
It was joyful.
And it was the start of everything.

That photo always stayed in my heart, even after I thought I’d lost it.
Then, when we were clearing out the old studio for our big move, I found it again.

Seeing that portrait after all these years stopped me in my tracks.
It was a beautiful reminder of why I started this journey in the first place — to give families something special. Something unique. Something that captures a fleeting, precious time in a truly creative way.

And now, all these years later, we’ll be able to do it again — but safely, of course! This time the bath isn’t squeezed into a tiny bathroom. It’s right here in the studio, ready to help us create something magical.

The Power of Visualisation

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how this all unfolded.
That little vision board — those scraps of paper and dreams — somehow turned into reality.

It makes me realise just how powerful visualisation can be.
When you take the time to imagine what you want, to see it clearly in your mind, something shifts.

You start believing it could happen.
You start taking small steps.
And suddenly, you look around and realise — you’re living it.

So whatever your version of a “studio bath” is — hold on to it.
Dream about it.
Picture it.
Because if you know what you want, and you keep it in sight, you really can make it happen.
