A Baby Shower Full of Giggles, Games and Love

By 31st March 2026Night Feed Ramblings

We said farewell to Alice this Friday with the most beautiful baby shower.

She’s off to welcome baby number two. While we are a little sad to say goodbye, it definitely felt like something worth celebrating.

Last weekend, Hannah and I were up in Penrith at a baby fayre. On the drive back, somewhere between snacks and singing, we started planning. There were giggles. Lots of them.

Hannah and Jo had already been busy behind the scenes. They’d found the perfect gifts. Thought through the details. And Hannah had a clear vision for the décor (of course she did!).

By Friday, everything was ready…

Hannah and Jo quietly slipped off to the themed studio to work their magic. When Alice started asking questions, we kept a straight face and told her they were busy with clients. No peeking allowed!

And oh… it was worth the wait.

The transformation was simply gorgeous. Think soft spring colours. Pops of gingham. A dreamy little tree decorated with origami storks carrying tiny paper babies. And a balloon arch finished with delicate butterflies. It felt light, joyful and full of love.

When Alice pressed “send” on her final order and wrapped up her last jobs, we all paused. Then came the applause.

We whisked her into the themed studio to reveal her surprise.

We started gently, with gifts, drinks and platters of party food. Time to sit, chat and soak it all in. Alice shared some very funny stories, and there were a few happy tears too.

Then… it was game time.

We split into two teams and kicked off with a memory game. Simple, right? Both teams absolutely nailed it. Competitive spirits were officially switched on.

Next up… pin the sperm on the egg.

Yes, really.

Hannah had outdone herself. She’d illustrated an egg with Alice’s face in the middle, and sperm featuring her partner Tom’s face. It was as hilarious as it sounds.

One by one, we were blindfolded and sent spinning. The aim? Pin the sperm in the right place. The reality? Absolute chaos.

Let’s just say… mine didn’t even come close.

Then came Poo or Prize (also known as Nappy or Napkin).

Hannah had hung rows of muslins, each hiding a mystery “surprise.” Inside? A mix of melted chocolate, Marmite, peanut butter… all wrapped to look suspiciously like something you’d rather not find.

No actual poo, we promise.

But the guessing, the reactions, and the brave taste tests had us all in stitches.

For the grand finale, we brought out the big one.

Each team lined up and had to pass a balloon down the line without using hands. Already tricky. Then came the nappy challenge. A cuddly toy, a nappy, and a race against the other team.

To finish? The “baby” (still attached!) had to be carried through a mini obstacle course… while running with hands on heads.

It was loud. It was chaotic. It was completely brilliant.

The perfect ending to a very special afternoon.

What a wonderful way to say goodbye (for now).

Alice, you are going to be amazing. We can’t wait to meet your newest little love.
