Now We Are Eleven

PhotoBaby has just turned eleven and so once again I find myself evaluating the past year and what this means to us. The last twelve months have been huge for our photography business so this birthday seems extra special. We’ve had a complete change in team, gone VAT registered and I started a Masters Degree in photography too.

Change in Team

We’ve said goodbye to Holly, Georgia and Zoe and hello to Daniel, Hannah and Ella. Dan is my husband and Hannah is my sister so PhotoBaby has transformed into a budding family business, which is a perfect fit as we are all about celebrating family!

We’ve had our heads together on how we can make your visits to us even more special. Streamlining every aspect of your experience so that even though we are now busier than ever, (with weekends almost full until the end of August already!) we can be confident that everything will be perfect for you.

Beautiful Mural

We’ve also been looking at how we can give you something quirky and unique, and make the studio visit even more memorable. We’ve commissioned a wonderful family tree mural to climb the stairs and celebrate our journey with you. It will be unveiled this month which is very exciting!

Further Study

And studying for the MA has been the icing on the cake! So many clients have been involved in the work that I have created for it, which I am so grateful for and hope that being involved has in turn enriched their own photography experience with PhotoBaby. Together so far we have researched baby loss and body image and there is still so much more to come with next year’s projects.

I’ve had my mind opened to so many new ideas and techniques and I can’t wait to learn more. The greatest lesson I have learnt this year is that there is so much to discover. We don’t know what we don’t know! Let’s never stop learning and always be open to the wonders of the world.

Running your own business isn’t always easy, but it is incredibly rewarding. I cherish the relationships I’ve built with my clients and I love knowing that the work we created will become that families treasures. When I’m out in the woods photographing amongst the bluebells or elbow deep in cake during a birthday cake smash, I have to pinch myself that this is my job. Thank you so much for being a part of it, and here’s to many more shoots together! x

PS. We’ve got lots of things going on to celebrate. The first 11 bookings made this month will be free and after that they will be just £11. And no birthday would be complete without pass the parcel, so we are hosting an online version of the game with a twist. Keep your eye out for it and do join in!
